Inala Jurassic Garden
The Inala Jurassic Garden (IJG) is a privately-owned educational facility and botanic garden which highlights the Gondwanan connections of a range of living plant families from the southern land-masses of Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, South America and New Caledonia. The living collection is comprised of over 700 species from 50+ families and is open to the public every day except Christmas Day. Interpretive signs are placed around the garden for self-guided visitors and guided garden tours are available on request.
The garden is situated within a 1,500 privately owned conservation-covenanted reserve In Tasmania, Australia. Heavy emphasis is placed on conservation of plant species that are threatened in the wild and IJG is working with other botanic gardens and research institutions to hold ex-situ collections of species that are threatened by climate change and human-induced threats.
